Stay Organized and Filled With Cheer During Holiday Madness

We have officially entered the crazy holiday week. Many people are stressing over traffic, travel plans and the lack of high-quality wrapping paper. If you are anything like me, you’re doing everything you can to stay in the spirit of the season. For me, my sanity is based on my level of organization. Here are the 5 things that help me to replace stress with holiday enjoyment.

  1. Plan Ahead

Planning ahead sounds simple enough but, to most, it is easier said than done. There is no need to add stress by procrastinating. I know that every year, my parents drop in to stay with me for 2 days before we take our family road trip south so I make it a priority to not only begin decluttering early but also packing. I know I can’t travel without my sweet dog, Friday, so I pack up my favorite Bag #1 with folded dog bags and treats and put it to the side. The night before my trip I’ll slip my Card Holder and chapstick inside and be ready to go for the next morning.

      2. Treat Yourself

Take time and go for a walk to breathe. Walking not only helps with anxiety but it also improves the quality of sleep. I also keep a facial mask handy in a #5 Bag for any downtime I may have. You cannot believe how relaxing a 20 minute in the car facial is until you have an unexpected 30-minute wait until you can snag a table for dinner.

       3. Slow It Down

Remember that issues are not a big deal unless you make it one. Learn to laugh off the long line and try not to sweat the small things like holiday traffic. Remember keeping an attitude of gratitude will go a long way so share a smile and pay for the coffee of a stranger.
